This bookplate was created on illustrators board using watercolour paint and a sponging technique which involved masking part of the design.
The finished design measures 21cm x 21cm and the recipient is so delighted with it she is planning to frame it and display it in her home. The image perfectly depicts the two cats Jack (dark grey with white) and Stella (tortoishell) in the position they are often found in, as they are the best of friends as well as rivals for their owner’s attentions.
The inscription surrounding the image contains an additional whimsical note in the form of two mice, it should be noted that only one of the two cats depicted have any interest in hunting them!
