Brian Gammell Ivory

This bookplate was created on illustrators board using watercolour paint and a sponging technique which involved masking part of the design.

The inspiration for this bookplate is obvious with use of an elephant to reflect the gentleman’s surname. I have, unusually for a bookplate, used a ‘sponging’ technique to decorate what would otherwise be blank spaces on the design.
